| Short-Stay Rehabilitation
Monroe Community Hospital offers one of the most comprehensive short-term rehabilitation
programs in the region, providing individualized care and treatment to people who have disabling conditions as a result of an injury or illness. Our well-respected program helps individuals regain their mobility, their ability to care for themselves, and their speech and language skills. We specialize in treating people who have had strokes and excel at caring for the elderly and individuals with multiple or severe disabilities.
Our rehabilitation program has demonstrated remarkable success in helping patients regain their independence by combining an individualized, caring, and supportive atmosphere with the newest practices and state-of-the-art technology. The program offers a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to meeting patients’ individual needs. We now offer physical therapy services six days each week, Monday through Saturday.
Patients are cared for by a treatment team which may involve specialists in
- Medicine
- Neuropsychology
- Rehabilitation nursing
- Physical therapy (NEW! Therapy offered six days per week)
- Occupational therapy
- Speech and language pathology
- Social Work
- Audiology
- Nutrition
Members of the treatment team are committed to the goal of restoring each patient’s physical and cognitive skills as fully as possible-enabling them to be self-reliant and independent.
