This program is designed in partnership with the Rochester Black Nurses Association to demonstrate MCH's personal interest in seeing that employees have the opportunity to develop the talent and knowledge to succeed - to have a successful career and make a positive contributions to their personal goals and objectives along with those of MCH. The focus of this program is to develop personal relationships with mentors that have experienced career challenges and success along with clarifying and advancing the career goals and expectations of the mentee. Mentoring is different from coaching or advising as its emphasis is on developing a personal relationship that supports the ongoing career development of the mentee.
A portion of this mentoring program includes classroom learning with instructors from the Roberts Wesleyan School of Nursing. This learning opportunity will support the development of new skills that will meet the increasing need for successful collaboration, coordination, and communication in the field of nursing.
