At MCH, our Resident Programs Department provides a wide variety of organized recreational activities, leisure programs, and special interest events. Residents participate in music programs, creative arts, discussion groups, gardening activities, social events, exercise classes, cooking classes, pet therapy programs, and much more. In addition, regular shopping trips, sporting events, concerts, picnics, and fishing trips, are conducted outside of the facility.
Programs are designed to appeal to the wide range of ages and abilities of our residents. Every month, a calendar of activities is posted on each of the nursing units. Highlights of the day's events are also announced each morning and are viewable throughout the day on the facility's television channel MCH-TV Channel 1390. A copy of the general open calendar is also posted on our website and can be viewed by clicking the link in the right-hand column. In addition, an activity newsletter called The Monthly Medley is distributed each month. The newsletter is a collection of puzzles, trivia games, seasonal information, and upcoming activity highlights for our residents.
In addition to scheduled programs and activities, residents will also experience other opportunities throughout the facility, including:

Pastoral Care Services
Catholic and Protestant chaplains on staff at MCH are available to minister to the spiritual needs of our residents. Regular worship services are held for residents, and opportunities to enhance an individual's spiritual life are provided in the form of Bible studies, retreats, and prayer services. The Pastoral Care staff are trained to provide pastoral counseling to people who have gone through dramatic life changes and losses, and a chaplain is on call around the clock and can provide crisis and grief counseling.
MCH also works with faith leaders of different backgrounds to meet the spiritual needs of all residents.

This handbook serves as a guide and resource to our residents and family members to maximize their time and ability in settling in to life at MCH.
