200 Years in the Making!
On Monday, September 14, 2026, Monroe Community Hospital will mark its bicentennial, celebrating 200 years since welcoming its very first residents to a small facility on South Avenue.
Founded in 1826, MCH has grown to become one of the largest skilled nursing facilities in the United States and a trusted health care provider in Monroe County. Over the past two centuries, the hospital has expanded and adapted to meet the community’s changing needs, offering services ranging from sub-acute rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing to specialized care.
The bicentennial celebration will include live music, dazzling fireworks, and other festivities, honoring both MCH’s history and its ongoing commitment to the community. (Rain date Sept. 17.)
