Friendship 3 Scheduled to Relocate by Fall

Dear Residents and Families,

We are writing to share an important update regarding upcoming changes within our facility as part of an exciting future growth initiative at Monroe Community Hospital.

MCH Friendship Building
Last year, MCH announced nearly $10.2 million in funding from the NYS Transformation Grant to upgrade its Pediatric Unit.

Later in 2026, residents currently residing on Friendship 3 East (FR3E) and Friendship 3 West (FR3W) will be permanently relocated to recently updated, Faith 3 East (FA3E) and Faith 4 East (FA4E). This transition is necessary to allow the Friendship 3 unit to be vacated in preparation for construction associated with our Pediatric Expansion Project, for which MCH received a nearly $10.2M grant through the NYS Transformation Grant.

This project reflects our continued commitment to serving the evolving healthcare needs of our community while maintaining a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for all residents.

We understand that changes to living environments can bring questions and concerns for residents and families. Please know that our priority throughout this process is to ensure a thoughtful, organized, and resident-centered transition. Our teams will work closely with each resident and family to provide support, communicate timelines, and address individual needs during the relocation process.

At this time, construction and relocation activities are anticipated to occur in the fall of 2026. Additional details, including projected timelines, room assignments, moving coordination, and opportunities for questions and discussion, will be shared as plans continue to develop.

While change can be difficult, we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible and appreciate your patience, understanding, and partnership throughout this process. Residents will continue to be supported by their existing interdisciplinary care teams on the new units, which includes social workers, nurse managers, physicians, and direct care staff. Residents will also remain with their current roommates whenever possible.

If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Administration or your unit leadership team at any time. Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Sincerely,

Administration
