Monroe Community Hospital celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week with a series of activities centered on the theme “Moments in Bloom” to highlight creativity and connection among residents, families, and staff.
Residents participated in art projects, a judged poetry showcase, and hands-on activities that included decorating flowerpots and creating a large collaborative MCH-themed display. In addition to a trip to the Lilac Festival, residents also enjoyed a peaceful and immersive forest-themed backdrop for memorable photos.
Throughout the week, residents also engaged in sensory and creative programming designed to foster expression and community connection, reinforcing the spirit of the celebration theme.
History-focused activities were woven into the week as well, including an MCH History Scavenger Hunt and History Jeopardy. These experiences offered residents a fun and interactive way to celebrate MCH’s rich legacy while helping kick off its Bicentennial, which will culminating with a special celebration on Sept. 14.
“Moments in Bloom” brought together creativity, learning, and shared experiences, honoring both the present-day MCH community and its long-standing history of care.
