Monroe Community Hospital (MCH) is proud to welcome two new Assistant Directors of Nursing, Niki Emler and Illonda McCants, who bring extensive and diverse experience to the organization’s clinical team.
Emler, who started in October, has 33 years of nursing experience across hospitals, group homes, and long-term care, and holds a Master’s in acute and critical care. She looks forward to supporting teams and building meaningful connections with residents.
McCants, who joined MCH in November, brings 21 years of experience, including roles as LPN, RN, and Nurse Manager, and earned a Master’s in Nursing Education from SUNY Empire.
She has led nursing teams internationally and is passionate about mentoring staff while delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

In their roles at MCH, Emler and McCants will coordinate nursing services, ensure staffing and compliance, guide staff development, and support the hospital’s high standards of care.
They are excited to join the MCH family, bringing energy, expertise, and a shared commitment to making every resident feel cared for and every team member feel supported. Their leadership strengthens MCH’s mission of excellence, compassion, and connection.
