Q: Am I eligible for the NYS Health Care Worker Bonus?

A: MCH Administration is working diligently with Monroe County Human Resources and Monroe County Legal to establish the list of eligible titles per the guidelines found at https://www.health.ny.gov/health_care/medicaid/providers/hwb_program/

 

Q: How much money will I receive?

A: Depending on your eligibility and hours worked, employees are eligible for up to $3,000 total over the duration of the program.

 

Q: What do I need to do to receive money through this program?

A: If you are an eligible employee, you are required to complete an Employee Attestation form. If you do not submit an Attestation Form, you will not receive payment.

 

Q: What if I work for multiple employers?

A: Employees may be able to submit attestation forms for multiple employers, however you will only be eligible for $3,000 worth of payments across all employers in total.

 

Q: When will payments be made under this program?

A: Employers are required to submit information for eligible employees following each vesting period. NYS provides the funds to the employer, who is required to pay employees within 30 days of receiving the funds.

 

Q: What are the dates of this program?

A: The NYS Health Care Worker Bonus program runs from October 1, 2021 through April 1, 2024 in six (6) month increments. There are five (5) vesting periods in total. Employees are eligible for two vesting periods per qualified employer.

 

Q: I am a contracted or agency employee. Am I eligible?

A: Monroe County will only make payments to Monroe County employees based upon the guidance. Contract and agency staff should check with their employer to determine if their employer is a qualified employer under this program.
