Amy Prenatt-Michaux, a Therapeutic Program Coordinator, has been named as an Employee of Distinction by LeadingAge NY for her extraordinary contributions at MCH to ensure that residents receive the highest level of care and mental health supports.
Known for her compassionate approach and collaborative spirit, Amy has dedicated her career to improving the lives of countless residents through innovative behavioral strategies and tailored care planning. Her work supports some of the facility’s most vulnerable populations — residents with complex mental health needs and addiction histories.
“Her dedication is unmatched,” said Alyssa Tallo, Executive Health Director. “Amy not only provides exceptional care — she changes lives with compassion, empathy and a deep understanding of the complexities with mental health."
Prenatt-Michaux played a crucial role in reinstating on-site Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, offering an essential resource that had been absent for years. She also champions safe-living policies, including initiatives to address hoarding and create smoke-free environments.
Her work is not only about managing behaviors but also about uplifting lives, fostering hope, and creating an environment where every resident feels heard, valued, and safe.
“I am truly humbled to have been nominated for and received this award," Prenatt-Michaux said. "I love being able to work with the residents to improve quality-of-life and see firsthand the positive changes that occur. It is an honor to be given the opportunity to help where needed, whatever that might entail. There is nothing better than being able to brighten a resident’s day.”
The Employee of Distinction Award highlights frontline workers who embody excellence and compassion in the field of aging services. Amy’s leadership and impact are a testament to the power of empathy in healthcare.
