Greenhouse Reopens on Friendship 3 Center

Updated: Aug 22

Monroe Community Hospital (MCH) is excited to announce that our on-campus greenhouse reopened in July following repairs.

The greenhouse, a favorite gathering place for residents, offering opportunities to enjoy plants and flowers, play checkers, and soak up the sun on a bright day—fostering both relaxation and connection.

“We’re thrilled to welcome residents back into the greenhouse,” said Alyssa Tallo, Executive Health Director. “This space brings so much joy and comfort to our community, and we’re looking forward to seeing it full of life again.”

With its accessible design, the greenhouse accommodates residents of all mobility levels, making it a truly inclusive space.

“The greenhouse has always been such a calm, soothing place—a spot to just sit back and enjoy the plants and some sun. It brings residents together,” said Deb Leary, a resident who attended the reopening. “It’s nice to have it open again. I am grateful that MCH put in the effort to renovate this little haven.”

The reopening of the greenhouse reflects MCH’s continued commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and creating spaces that inspire well-being.
