Executive Director: Work Underway on New Unit

Writer: AdminAdmin

Updated: Mar 5

We are pleased to share an important update about a significant addition to our care services: the upcoming launch of our new end-of-life/hospice unit, scheduled to open this summer.

Currently under construction on Faith 4C, this new unit will provide a compassionate home and peaceful space to offer comfort, dignity, and critical support to families during their final moments with loved ones.

Key upgrades include ample gathering spaces for families, a dedicated chapel to ensure spiritual support is always accessible, and family overnight rooms, allowing loved ones to stay close during their precious final moments together.

It will take a team of dedicated individuals to bring our vision to life in offering compassionate, supportive, and dignified care. To that end, we have invited staff to several informational sessions to learn about our vision for the unit and explore job opportunities.

If you are interested in these opportunities, please check for our postings on the MCH website under “Careers” and the county’s online job portal. You can also visit Human Resources to fill out an application and learn more. Job postings will be specifically marked “End of Life/Hospice.”

For staff working on this unit, we will provide additional support and training through a

partnership with the University of Rochester Medical Center. We encourage all staff to learn more about the new unit.

As always, thank you for your commitment to providing the highest quality of care to our residents and their families.

Alyssa Tallo, Executive Health Director
