Monroe Community Hospital offers one of the most comprehensive short-term rehabilitation programs in the region, providing individualized care and treatment to people who have disabling conditions as a result of an injury or illness. Our well-respected program helps individuals regain their mobility, their ability to care for themselves, and their speech and language skills. We specialize in treating people who have had strokes and excel at caring for the elderly and individuals with multiple or severe disabilities.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

Physical therapy is a health care profession that provides treatment to individuals to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and function throughout life. This includes providing treatment in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, disease or environmental factors.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational therapy is involved with human lives that have been disrupted by injury, disease, the aging process or developmental problems. The fundamental goal of therapy is to utilize purposeful activities that will restore an individuals capacity to its fullest potential and to perform the tasks of daily living essential to the maintenance of an independent lifestyle.

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) are professionals who are educated to assess and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice and swallowing disorders.
