Monroe Community Hospital (MCH) has hired Adya Senior as its clinical risk coordinator, bringing a decade of diverse clinical, quality and research experience to the role.
Senior joins MCH after 10 years with the University of Rochester, where she began her career as a palliative care certified nursing assistant. She later advanced to a quality assurance specialist position in pathology before transitioning into research. Most recently, she served as a data specialist and research coordinator in pediatric clinical trials.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and is currently completing a master’s degree in data science through the University of Pittsburgh.
In her new role, Senior is responsible for identifying, reviewing and investigating potential violations of facility policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, with a focus on patient safety and the prevention of resident abuse, neglect and mistreatment. She works under the general supervision of a quality assurance manager or other senior staff member.
Senior said she sees her role as helping preserve residents’ rights while fostering respectful relationships between caregivers and residents, promoting dignity and quality of life across the organization.
Outside of work, Senior enjoys reading, staying active and spending time with her pets. She keeps roller skates, tennis gear and a basketball in her car, ready for any opportunity to get moving.
