Monroe Community Hospital recently welcomed city students from Padilla High School and East High School to explore a variety of health care careers and support opportunities at MCH.
Approximately 30 students met with MCH staff in transportation, security, administration, facilities, food and nutrition, admissions, human resources, leisure and recreation, the Simulation Center, and laundry. Each team showcased the roles that make patient care possible, helping give students a full picture of operations at MCH.
Students engaged in hands-on experiences in the Simulation Center, where they interacted with robotic mannequins, and also viewed engaging demonstrations from the Food & Nutrition team. Staff praised the students’ curiosity and energy, and school coordinators reported positive feedback from participants as well.
“Thanks to everyone who led tours, prepared spaces, and shared their expertise,” said John Lightfoot, Community Relations Coordinator, who helped organize the tour. “Your teamwork made the day memorable and inspiring for the next generation of healthcare professionals.”
