From a small brick building on South Avenue in 1826 to one of the nation’s largest skilled nursing facilities today, MCH has remained steadfast in its long-standing mission to provide a compassionate home to members of our community.

In 2026, to commemorate two centuries of service to the Rochester region — and beyond — we will celebrate our storied history with a year-long bicentennial observance. Events are already being planned to honor our past while looking ahead to the future.
Our first event will feature the unveiling of a new, modern logo on branded apparel for staff. The updated mark reflects our current focus and values with a clean, contemporary design inspired by our pillars of mission, compassion, and home.
Also, in conjunction with the MCH Auxiliary, which will celebrate 60 years of service in 2026, we will open an online store for three weeks (Jan. 8–30), where staff and supporters can purchase items in our colors featuring the new logo. A portion of each sale will support the Auxiliary.
If you would like to participate in the celebration now, please visit our website to submit your stories, memories, and photos at monroehosp.org/mchmemories. Expect more details on our bicentennial celebration throughout the year, along with additional events marking this important milestone.
We hope everyone will take time in 2026 to join us in honoring the contributions of those who came before us and those who continue to ensure that members of our community who need us most have a compassionate home for years to come.
