Monroe Community Hospital was recently honored with two prestigious statewide LeadingAge New York awards, recognizing the facility’s commitment to innovation and excellence in long-term care.
Amy Prenatt-Michaux, therapeutic program coordinator, received LeadingAge New York’s statewide Employee of Distinction Award, while MCH’s realistic Simulation Center was honored with the association’s Innovation Award.
The awards celebrate the very best in nonprofit long-term care providers among approximately 350 members across New York state and were presented at MCH in December. Monroe County Executive Adam Bello, MCH administrators and managers, and Diana Darbyshire, vice president of advocacy and public policy at LeadingAge New York, who presented the awards, attended the ceremony along MCH staff.
Prenatt-Michaux, who also received a special proclamation from Bello, was recognized for her exceptional work supporting residents with mental health needs across MCH departments.
MCH’s Simulation Center, which opened in summer 2024, has transformed staff training with semi-private rooms, lifelike mannequins, and realistic patient scenarios that allow staff to practice clinical, safety, and emergency protocols under guided supervision.
Both awards underscore MCH’s ongoing commitment to workforce development and recognizing employees who go above and beyond to support the facility’s mission to provide compassionate and comprehensive care.
