Monroe Community Hospital (MCH) is proud to announce that the Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to support the launch of a new end-of-life unit.

“We are profoundly grateful to the Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation for their generous support of our new end-of-life unit,” said David Veniskey, president of the MCH Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that secured the grant. “Their commitment ensures that individuals and families in our community will receive compassionate care and comfort when it is needed most. Together, we are providing dignity and support at life’s most challenging moments.”

The grant funding will help bring additional amenities to a 25-bed space designed to support compassionate, dignified care to residents and their families on the fourth floor of MCH's historic Faith Building.

“This grant brings us one step closer to ensuring our residents experience the comfort and dignity they deserve at every stage of life,” said Alyssa Tallo, Executive Health Director of MCH. “We are deeply thankful to the Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation for recognizing the importance of end-of-life care.”

The dedicated unit will offer a peaceful, home-like environment that prioritizes comfort, privacy, and emotional support for those in their final days. The space will also provide resources and areas for families, helping them remain close to their loved ones.

Construction of the new unit is currently underway, with the goal of opening this summer.

The grant was secured by the MCH Foundation, a not-for-profit organization seeking charitable support to enhance programs and services at MCH. For more information on the MCH Foundation, and ways to support the Foundation, please visit www.MonroeHosp.org/mch-foundation.
